Saturday, September 4, 2010

Sterling, Kan. - The Lady Warriors escaped the final game of the Sterling Invitational with a victory in five sets over Oklahoma Wesleyan. With the five set win, the Warriors are 3-1 overall and have a good start to the season.

Sara Steria led the Warriors to a first set victory, claiming seven kills in the set. The Warriors were able to hold off a late rally by Oklahoma Wesleyan to take a one set to nothing lead.

Steria took control again in the fourth set, killing the ball seven more times to force a fifth and final set. In the final set, the Warriors prevailed with hard work, determination, and good passing. In the final set, the Warriors claimed the match with a 15-9 fifth set win.

Steria had a great game for the Warriors. She ended the match with 30 kills, six blocks, 15 digs, and three aces.

Adriana Gonzalez added 43 assists and eight digs.

The Warriors' next match will be on September 8th at home in a conference matchup against the University of Saint Mary
