“Candlelight” concert focuses on Advent

Wednesday, November 28, 2012

Advent officially begins on Sunday, Dec. 2, and the Sterling College Chorale, Highland Singers and Sterling Lasses are welcoming in the season with “Candlelight,” a free concert at the Sterling United Methodist Church at 3 p.m. The public is invited to attend and stay for the reception following the concert.

“The music that we chose for this concert focuses on Advent and the lighting of the Advent candles,” said Mark Clark, assistant professor of music. “We hope the public comes to enjoy the choirs and learn about the meaning behind the Advent season.”

The concert will last approximately one hour.
