$1.3 Million Gift Given to Sterling College | September 7, 2011

Two alumni and long-time supporters of Sterling College, J. Lamar and Mildred Dunn have donated $1.3 million from their estate to the institution. The gift will be invested and generate annual earnings for 20 years. Following this time, Sterling’s trustees will decide how to use the unrestricted funds.

Noah Named KCAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week | September 5, 2011

Wichita, Kan. – Senior Women's Soccer player Karina Noah was named the KCAC Offensive Player of the Week for her performance in Sterling College's two matches over the weekend. Noah scored four goals and had one assist on the week, good enough to garner nine points and the recognition from the conference.

Turnovers Plague Warriors in Football Opener | August 27, 2011

Liberty, MO – The Sterling College Warriors got off to a good start against the William Jewell College Cardinals on Saturday evening, forcing a turnover on each of Jewell’s first two drives.  Sterling was able to convert those two turnovers into six points off of two Doug Dunn field goals before William Jewell would score 33 unanswered points to win 33-6.

Athletic Training Education Program Earns National Accreditation | August 23, 2011

Sterling College is proud to announce that the Athletic Training Education Program has been given the Continuing Accreditation award by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education. The athletic training program has met all of the nationally-recognized Standards for Entry-Level Athletic Training Education, to receive the highest award of reaccreditation for ten years. The CAATE commends Sterling College for its “commitment to the advancement of quality education in Athletic Training,” as well as its “dedication to the preparation of highly qualified Athletic Training professionals.”

Maggie Anderson joins SC as assistant director of admissions. Maggie has an undergrad music degree and an MBA from George Fox University. She has been an admissions training specialist for American Intercontinental University.

Manely Named President Elect of NAIA Athletic Training Association | August 16, 2011

Pete Manely, exercise science department chair and certified athletic trainer (ATC) at Sterling College, has been named the President Elect of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Athletic Training Association.  Manely is also the President of the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) Athletic Training Association.

SC Volleyball Recieves AVCA Team Academic Award | August 16, 2011

Lexington, Ky. - The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) has announced  that the Sterling College Volleyball Program is one of 481 teams that have earned the AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2010-2011 season.  This number once again breaks the previous years' total of 450 and sets a new all-time high for this award. 

New Accounting Concentration Offered for Business Majors | August 15, 2011

The new school year is upon us. In addition to new students, new faculty, and new staff, Sterling College is starting this year with a new concentration: Accounting. With the addition of business professor, Irene Barkman, Sterling College is now able to offer Accounting as new area of study for business majors.
