Mr. Austin graduated in May of 1999 with a BA in Mass Communications from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK while concurrently serving his six year enlistment in the US Army Reserve. He went on to work in campus ministry for the next five years at NSU and the University of Missouri. During this time he was able to serve on several mission teams, including trips to Japan, China, Thailand and Panama.  Mr.

Renard Ballard

Assistant Resident Director

Renard graduated from Sterling College in 2014 with a BA in Psychology. He is originally from Dayton Ohio but has lived in North Hollywood California since 2009. During his time at Sterling he was a Residential Assistant in Kilbourn Hall (two years), Student Ambassador (two years), Bible Study leader, and played football for two years. This summer, he worked as the discipleship coordinator at Westminster Woods Summer Camp where he was in charge of developing and implementing the Christian education curriculum for each of the week-long camps.

K.C. Bassett

Head Women's Basketball Coach

K.C. Bassett is currently the head women's basketball coach. She was head junior varsity coach and assistant varsity coach for seven seasons prior to being named the head women's basketball coach for the 2014-15 season.

Kaylee Beutler

Visit Experience Coordinator

Kaylee Beutler is from Clay Center, Kansas and graduated in May, 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and the honors of cum laude and Kelsey Scholar. As a student, she was involved many campus events, from attending plays and musicals to CAB events and intramurals. She was a Dorm Chaplain in McCreery 11-12', a Resident Assistant in McCreery 12'-13'. In 13-14', she was the Treasure for Future Science Professionals of America (FSPA), the Campus Activities Board Coordinator, and was also on one of the Praise Bands.

Sheila Bird

Director of Planned Giving

As Director of Planned Giving, Sheila Bird is a member of the Institutional Advancement team and has leadership responsibility to manage a comprehensive planned giving program, including the Kelsey Society, charitable gift annuities, wills and trusts, non-cash gifts like real estate, stocks, and farm crops, endowed gifts, and gifts needing complex planning assistance. She will also assist the Vice President of Advancement to secure gifts for the Sterling Fund, Cooper Fund, major gifts, grants, and all capital projects for campus improvements.

Jessica Boor

Head Coach of Cheer and Dance

Jessica Boor enters her second year as head coach of Sterling’s Cheer and Dance program. Prior to coaching, Boor spent two years cheering for the Salina Cagerz, a basketball team based out of Salina. Boor also attended Barton County Community College, where she cheered, and also spent four years cheering at Sterling High School. Boor currently resides in Sterling with her husband, Zach, and their two year old, Brentley. Outside of cheering, Boor is a CNA at the Sterling Medical Center.

Pam Bradford

Pam Bradford 2012

Pam recieved her associates degree in printing technology in 1990. She then went to work on a exotic animal farm as a barn manager for a year. After that she went to work in a print plant and worked there for 13 years. She has three grown children and 2 grandchildren.  She has worked for a police department, sheriffs department and in a foundry so she is a Jill of all trades. She is here at Sterling College because the Lord put her here.

Jenny Bradley

Director of Ministry Teams

Jenny Bradley (formerly known as Jenny Lane) serves as the Director of Ministry Teams for Sterling College. SC’s Ministry Teams lead worship services and special events for churches and schools. Ministry Teams are made up of current college students with talents in photography, graphic design, production arts, singing, worship leading, theater, and communications.

Connie Carey

Director of Student Health

Connie Carey serves as the Director of Student Health. She holds an RN as well as notable experience as an Allied Health instructor for 18 years. She is a current member of the Central College Health Association where she has served on the board from 2011-2013, and is also a memeber of the American College Health Association. Connie works closely with the Student Life office to provide individual, quality care to each student. Connie lives in Sterling with her husband Bruce, a life-long farmer/rancher. The Careys have three adult children: Sara, Travis and Fay.

Scott Carter

Vice President of Institutional Advancement

Scott Carter is Sterling College's vice president of institutional advancement, overseeing planned giving, annual fund, alumni relations, advancement database/software systems, donor development and all advancement operations.  Scott also serves as a member of the president’s cabinet.
